"Terrific Pub With An Equally Terrific Pub Landlord"
We welcomed Sara Damergi and the Coast vs Country team to the pub recently when they were showing house hunters Tony and Debbie properties in nearby villages and on the coast. Tony was sure the coast was for him, but at the end of the programme commented that "The benefits of a village location, with a community with a terrific pub and equally terrific landlord" had encouraged him to have a rethink and that, in agreement with his wife, they would now be looking to relocate to the country! Sara, who was representing the 'country' was obviously thrilled by this! The episode can be viewed on Catch Up Channel 4, Thurs 15th Dec, 3pm, East Sussex.

UP, UP AND AWAY!
When Ruth came along with friends to our annual Beer & Music Festival in July little did she know the raffle tickets she kindly purchased would see her winning the fabulous first prize of a flight in a two seater aeroplane, very kindly donated by Gary 'the pilot'. Ruth was thrilled when her ticket was drawn and it was arranged that she would take flight on the 27th August from Biggin Hill.
Setting off, they travelled at 150mph over Sevenoaks towards Maidstone and Leeds Castle where they headed towards us at The White Hart! After a couple of spins over Newenden, they turned back to Biggin Hill. As if the excitement of flying in this fabulous little plane wasn't enough, they ended up helping a fellow flyer in distess over Lamberhurst, relaying radio messages for him. Thankfully the fellow flyer landed safely having suffered a failed engine. Quite a day out! Ruth says her friends are all green with envy at her winning such a fabulous prize!
A PERFECT KENTISH EVENING
The Cinque Port Morris Men and Weald of Kent Morris Men danced and sang together on Thursday 11th August. Fantastic entertainment. A Kentish tradition performed at a traditional Kentish pub! Perfect!
