Supporting Cancer Research UK & The British Heart Foundation
We are busy preparing for this year's festival which will be taking place on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July. Regulars to our annual festival will know that it's a fantastic weekend, packed to the brim with superb music, top quality real ales and festival food. It's an event for the whole family to enjoy and for the little ones we have a play area and Steph from Medway Party Faces will be at the ready with face paints and henna tattoos! 2 DAYS of LIVE MUSIC and it's FREE TO ATTEND!! UNBELIEVABLE!! Simply pick your spot in the garden, sit back with a drink and enjoy!
Festival Fundraising - once again we will be dividing all money raised between Cancer Research UK and a second charity, which this year will be The British Heart Foundation. So please buy a raffle ticket or two, or three, or four, or five....... Ivan also very kindly donates 10p from every pint sold from the festival beer shed!
Prizes kindly donated so far for our Festival Raffle:
1st Prize - WOW! This is the third year in a row that the Nick Davidson Memorial Flying Scholarship Trust have donated a flight over the local area in a two seater plane. (We are waiting to hear if this might be a WW2 biplane! Watch this space). This is a fabulous prize which has been enjoyed immensely by previous first prize winners. Plus:
2 Course Sunday Lunch for 2 here at The White Hart.
Voucher from Rother Rides a fantastic new family run business in Newenden offering guided EBike tours of the Wealden & Romney Marsh countryside.
£50 voucher from GardenScape, Newenden.
A planter from The Walled Nursery, Hawkhurst
A voucher from the Bodiam Boating Station.
Bottle of something sparkling from Ellis of Richmond.
The Music - Our garden provides an amazing venue for live music and enough room for a large stage supplied and constructed each year by Scott's Scaffolding. Professional lighting and a sound desk give our festival acts the perfect platform from which to perform and festival goers can expect festival favourites such as the Smokin Mojos and Freak Flag, mixed with new acts and groups.
A few acts new to our festival - The Kiffs, a talented band whose members are still at school in Rye, 7teen-Fifty-9 who will be bringing Saturday to a lively close and very special festival guests The Equatorial Group who will bring their own unique sound to the festival on Sunday. See left of this page for the full line up.
Real Ale - we're looking forward to publishing this year's tasting notes shortly.
